Monochromatic still life of a mushroom. During creation I mixed blue, yellow, and red to make a lavender/blackish color. This was the first serious oil painting I ever painted. Of course this piece is inspired by one of the most interesting fungi known to man. I find mushrooms to be interesting because genetically they are closer to humans more than any other plant, they breath oxygen like humans, and their psychedelic properties make them a unique and interesting topic to discuss.
