This monochromatic indigo blue painting is based on escaping out of the darkness and into the light. Inspired by visiting and researching my church, The Village Denton, and relating Christian beliefs to experiences I’ve had in my past. Border: Satanic cross in the bottom left corner and the Moon in the bottom right corner, sym- bolizing darkness (the bottom). Christian cross in the top right corner and Sun in the top left, symboling light (the top). Fire: Representing hell, the beginning of escaping darkness. Earth: Representing the plane that the living occupy, residing between heaven and hell. Sky: The plane where the stars reside, one step away from heaven. Heaven: We’ll only really know about this realm once the living journey is all over.
